ISRAEL & THE TAPI PIPELINE

Excerpt from: http://www.bollyn.com/home#article_11144

The main Zionist goal in Afghanistan and Pakistan is to "pacify" these nations to allow the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline to be built. This line, once completed, could be extended to China. This project is the pipe dream of Joseph A. Maiman (a.k.a. Josef, Yosef, Yossi), one of the most powerful men in Israel.

Yosef A. Maiman

The Jerusalem Post of 23 July 2004, described Maiman as one of the leading miners of the gas of Central Asia, specifically Turkmenistan:

Though his sprawling multi-billion-dollar empire stretches from Channel 10 TV, where he is a partner, to Central Asian gas fields, where he is a leading miner, Maiman was born humbly, in a displaced persons camp in Germany, and grew up in Peru.

Maiman's Merhav Group started off in 1976 with Third World debt-financing, but later diversified into agriculture, energy solutions and telecoms. Today, it is the Republic of Turkmenistan's single largest foreign partner.

Just two weeks ago, the Israeli foreign ministry announced it would open a new embassy in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, "saying it was a natural step in burgeoning bilateral ties, and reflected a new momentum in Israel's overall ties with the Central Asian countries," according to the Jerusalem Post of 21 May 2009.

Turkmenistan is reported to be "the second largest holder of gas reserves in the world, with some 28 trillion cubic meters of proven gas reserves," second only to Russia. The "former" Israeli Mossad agent Joseph A. Maiman is reportedly the owner or co-owner of much of that gas and has been the key person managing the development of Turkmenistan's gas fields.

If the TAPI pipeline were to be completed, the Israelis connected with Maiman and Merhav would collect tens of billions of dollars by selling the gas of Turkmenistan to Pakistan, India, and China. This is certainly one of the key Israeli strategic goals in Afghanistan and Pakistan. The pipeline is meant to pass through Kandahar, the area where Canadians are serving and which Canada is obliged to defend until 2012.

The planned route of the TAPI pipeline

Mr. Maiman is also a business partner of Rupert Murdoch and Ronald Lauder. In November 2002, Yossi Maiman and the former head of the Mossad, Shabtai Shavit, launched a new political party with the former head of the Shin Bet, Ya'acov Perry. These people are all closely tied to the false-flag terror attacks of 9-11. Their roles are described in my chapter entitled, "The Architecture of Terror."

To really understand why the Obama administration is sending more troops to Afghanistan and waging war in Pakistan it is essential to understand what is at stake and who will benefit from the TAPI pipeline. Read all

Veterans got bad karma: One in 10 inmates in Britain's jails is an ex-soldier, shock figures reveal

By Daily Mail Reporter Last updated at 11:49 AM on 25th September 2009

The Government was under fire for failing to support British troops returning from war today after figures revealed nearly one in 10 prisoners is an Armed Forces veteran.

Shocking research by the probation officers' union Napo shows some 8,500 former soldiers are currently in prison in England and Wales.
Another 12,000 have criminal convictions and are on the books of the Probation Service.

This means there are more than twice as many veterans in jail, on probation or on parole in the UK than the number of troops currently serving in Afghanistan.
Veterans in Scotland and Northern Ireland are not included, meaning the true figure is likely to be much higher.

The data was branded a 'disgrace' today as it reignited the debate over the level of protection and support offered to former military personnel.
Napo said the situation was of 'grave concern' and added to 'overwhelming evidence' that support for ex-soldiers simply was not good enough.
Assitant general secretary Harry Fletcher said: 'There must be a duty of care with the state to offer proper support, advice and counselling to soldiers, when they are putting their lives on the line.
'At the moment, many seem to cope by using alcohol and drugs, which leads them to depression, violence and offending.'
He added: 'If it's good enough for soldiers to risk their lives on the frontline then surely it must be good enough to offer them support and counselling on their return.'

The figures will only fuel growing concern about the overall treatment of the forces after a summer of rows over lack of equipment amid mounting deaths and injuries.
Just today, a senior general who had clashed with ministers over the Afghan conflict and policy towards the military revealed he is quitting.
Army sources told the Mail that Major General Andrew Mackay's decision to take early retirement was linked to his growing unhappiness over the treatment of troops.
Napo said its members reported that the 'vast majority' of veterans were not getting the support or counselling they need when they return to civilian life.
According to a sample analysis of 90 people on probation or parole, one in three had chronic alcohol abuse and one in 10 was on drugs.

Domestic violence was by far the most likely conviction for a veteran, accounting for one in three cases. Other violent crimes accounted for around one in five convictions.
One in four said they had post-traumatic stress disorder, but many went undiagnosed. Others cited depression and behavioural problems.
The group who took part included veterans from the conflicts in Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan.
Although the sample was small, the figures give the best indication yet about the sheer scale of the struggle faced by ex-soldiers when they come home.

Neither the Ministry of Defence nor the Ministry of Justice currently publish figures on veterans in custody or on probation.
Shadow justice secretary Dominic Grieve said: 'It is a disgrace that so many who have served their country are languishing in our prisons. No-one is above the law, but this Government has failed to provide proper support to our troops on return home.'
David Hill, chief executive of charity Combat Stress, said he was 'not surprised' by the findings and urged ministers to look again at the services provided.
'Both the increase in demand for services and the severe and complex presentations we are seeing indicate to us that the six NHS Veterans' Mental Health Pilots are not adequate to deal with the scale and size of the problem,' he said.

The Ministry of Defence insisted the vast majority of former service personnel make a 'successful return' to civilian life.
'A small minority can face serious difficulties and we provide a wide range of support, before, during and after leaving the services, including the MoD's Prison In-Reach initiative,' a spokesman said.
A Ministry of Justice spokesman added: 'People entering the criminal justice system are from a range of backgrounds and present a variety of issues which have contributed to their offending behaviour. Staff support individuals in addressing these issues, working towards their rehabilitation.'

FOX News Poll: 61% Say Use Force To Stop Iran

Most Americans say they are worried about Iran developing a nuclear weapons program, and a clear majority supports the use of force to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons

By Dana Blanton

-By a two-to-one margin the public thinks the U.S. will eventually need to use military force to stop Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons....

Most Americans say they are worried about Iran developing a nuclear weapons program, and think President Obama should be tougher on the rogue nation. In addition, a clear majority supports the use of force to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

According to a new FOX News poll released Thursday, a sizable 69 percent majority of Americans thinks President Obama has not been tough enough on Iran. That includes over half of Democrats (55 percent), two-thirds of independents (67 percent) and almost all Republicans (88 percent).

Some 16 percent of Americans think the president's actions have been "about right" and hardly any -- 6 percent -- say he has been "too tough" on Iran.

By a two-to-one margin the public thinks the U.S. will eventually need to use military force to stop Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons - 59 percent think so, while 29 percent think Iran can be stopped without the use of force.

Furthermore, 61 percent of Americans support the U.S. taking military action to stop Iran, including majorities of Democrats (53 percent), Republicans (73 percent) and independents (55 percent). Some 28 percent of Americans oppose military action against Iran.

Opinion Dynamics Corp. conducted the national telephone poll of 900 registered voters for FOX News from September 29 to September 30. The poll has a 3-point error margin.
....
Most people - 77 percent - say they are worried about Iran obtaining nukes. That's the same number as say they are worried about the increasing size of the federal deficit (77 percent) and about the same that worry the federal government is spending too much money (79 percent).

The number of people concerned about Iran is significantly higher than the number worried about someone in their family losing their job (52 percent), that a terrorist attack will happen in the U.S. in the next six months (47 percent) and that an H1N1 epidemic will hit the United States (42 percent).
