Obama Calls In The UN Against Arizona

The tinfoilhat paranoids freaking about an incoming United Nations invasion/NWO may be right:

Obama Hauls Arizona Before the UN Human Rights Council

Apparently Barack Obama is not content to make a federal case out of his immigration feud with Arizona; he just made it an international one.
The president’s first-ever report on U.S. human rights to the UN Human Rights Council contains a rich vein of offensive material. So far, one aspect has not been reported: our petty president used the situation to bash Arizona’s immigration law — and possibly transfer jurisdiction over the law from Arizona to the UN. Throughout the report, which sounds like an Obama campaign speech, the president discusses “the original flaw” of the U.S. Constitution, America’s tolerance for slavery, and his version of our long and despicable history of discriminating against and oppressing minorities, women, homosexuals, and the handicapped. After each complaint, he addresses how he is delivering us from ourselves, patting himself on the back for such initiatives as ending “torture,” promoting Affirmative Action, and passing health care legislation.
In his section on “Values and Immigration,” he praised the Department of Homeland Security’s efforts to provide better medical care for detainees and increase “Alternatives To Detention” (e.g., letting them go). Then he turned to the one state that has had the temerity to stand in his way of fundamentally transforming the American electorate:
A recent Arizona law, S.B. 1070, has generated significant attention and debate at home and around the world. The issue is being addressed in a court action that argues that the federal government has the authority to set and enforce immigration law. That action is ongoing; parts of the law are currently enjoined.
On Obama’s command, Attorney General Eric Holder has sued the State of Arizona for passing a law that he criticized without reading, and which merely upholds federal law. (He gave sanctuary cities a pass.) He now threatens an additional lawsuit against Sheriff Joe Arpaio for “racial profiling” when arresting illegal immigrants near the Mexican border.
Obama’s turns his skirmish with Jan Brewer from a states rights dispute into an international human rights cause. It also places Arizona’s law in the hands of the United Nations.
The national report is but the first step of the international government’s review process. On November 5, the United States will be examined by a troika of UN bureaucrats from France, Japan, and Cameroon (an oppressive nation which is a member of the Organization of Islamic Conference). This trio will consider three items: Obama’s self-flagellating report, reports written about America by UN tribunals or international governing bodies, and testimony from NGOs with a pronounced anti-American bias. It will also consider “voluntary pledges and commitments made by the State,” such as suspending an Arizona state law.
Then the French, Japanese, and Cameroon diplomats will draw up a plan of action for the United States to implement.
Nations are re-examined every four years. The Human Rights Council looks for voluntary compliance. However, its website asserts, “The Human Rights Council will decide on the measures it would need to take in case of persistent non-cooperation by a State with the” World Body.
When the Left cannot win at the ballot box (virtually every time), it overrules the people in the courts. Now that Obama is not sure he can prevail in the courts, he has overruled the American people by hauling Arizona and the two-thirds of Americans who support its law before the United Nations.

Obama Wants Arizona Judged by Human Rights Offender

If the Obama administration has its way, Arizona’s immigration law will be evaluated by a nation the State Department considers a human rights abuser.
Barack Obama included a reference to the Arizona law in America’s first-ever report to the UN Human Rights Councilearlier this month. On November 5, a troika of nations composed of Japan, France, and Cameroon will hear the case against the United States and suggest a plan of action for the administration  to follow before its re-evaluation in four years. However, the State Department records that Cameroon is guilty of numerous human rights violations including torture, suppression of the press, child labor, and female genital mutilation.
The State Department’s 2009 Human Rights Report on Cameroon records the African nation’s violent history:

Obama violates Constitution again; elicits UN involvement in Arizona!

J.T. Coyoté -

August 31, 2010
In an unprecedented act of unconstitutional abridgment and over-reaching presidential power, Barack Obama is poised to call the United Nations Human Rights Council vultures down on the state of Arizona.
He is apparently not satisfied with his last 11th Amendment faux pas; the commanding of Attorney General Eric Holder to unconstitutionally sue Arizona for enacting a state law to correct federal inaction on Arizona’s Constitutional request for assistance. Now, as if that wasn’t enough 11th Amendment stumbling, he is bringing the UN into it.
In his report to the United Nations Human Rights Council on human rights in the US, aside from calling for U.N. involvement in Arizona, he leaps right into America bashing.  He points out what he considers flaws in the U.S. Constitution, then toots his own horn as the president who promoted and passed universal health care legislation, and ended “torture” at Guantanamo. As if torture there was the American people’s idea.  Sounding more like a constitutional destroyer than a constitutional scholar, he points out what he calls our human rights inadequacies — discrimination and oppression of ethnic minorities, women,  the handicapped and homosexuals.  Making himself look like the American people’s deliverer, our messiah — it reads like he’s stumping for election, perhaps as Secretary General of the UN.
In this report the federal government will turn over to the UN, control of all action regarding Arizona border policy. Arizona Governor Jan Brewer demanded that it’s new immigration law, SB-1070 be removed from the Human Rights report to the United Nations, which also contains the unconstitutional federal court challenge to the Arizona law, listing it as one of the federal methods used to protect human rights. Governor Brewer, in a letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stated that the inclusion of the Arizona law as a human rights violation was not only wrong, but was “downright offensive.” She continues, “The idea of our own American government submitting the duly enacted laws of a state of the United States to ‘review’ by the United Nations is internationalism run amok and unconstitutional.”
This unparalleled call for United Nations intervention to cover federal inaction on the border, and spin it as a civil-rights violation by Arizona, is incorrigible.  Some would call it treasonous.  Arizona has been fighting this illegal immigration problem now for over 30 years, while the federal government has been doing everything it can to avoid the problem.  There are those who will say that the immigration situation is so vast that the only way the federal government can solve it, is by calling on the United Nations.  This is poppycock, pure unadulterated internationalist tripe of the highest order.  He’s merely escalating the Bush open-door immigration policy Americans don’t want, nor can we afford to have continue.
For the president to insinuate civil rights abuses as his reasons, is a slap in the face of the people of Arizona, and the United States. We have bent over backwards and been taxed to the hilt, to accommodate and pay for the 30 million from south of the border who have already entered the country illegally.  The president’s language suggests the beginnings of sanctions, that could escalate into actions similar to those on Iraq after the First Gulf War.  Sanctions that took a first world nation back to Third World poverty in less than two decades. This President’s actions betray his true loyalties, and begins the toppling of the first domino within the United States — Arizona.  To quote Abraham Lincoln, “This nation can never be conquered from without. If it is ever to fall it will be from within.”

Arizona Fights Back over UN Human Rights Report

Arizona is fighting back against the Obama administration’s decision to haul her state before the United Nations Human Rights Council. Governor Jan Brewer has penned a letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton Friday expressing her “concern and indignation” at the administration’s report to the UN, which cited a federal lawsuit against Arizona’s immigration bill as part of its efforts to fight human rights violations. This author was the first person to report that provision of the administration’s brief.
“Apparently, the federal government is trying to make an international human rights case out of S.B. 1070 on the heels of already filing a federal court case against the State of Arizona,” the governor wrote in a line that echoed the opening of my own piece.
She rightly noted the Orwellian aspect of a sitting president appealing to a world government to quash a popular state law. “The idea of our own American government submitting the duly enacted laws of a State of the United States to ‘review’ by the United Nations is internationalism run amok and unconstitutional,” she wrote. Brewer vowed to challenge the report all the way to the UN:

Glenn Beck’s Theatre of the Absurd

By Keith Johnson
Revolt of the Plebs
If you want to know the real purpose behind Glenn Beck’s expensive, heavily publicized ‘feel good’ extravaganza, you need only watch the first ten minutes of the speech he delivered on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.
Dressed up in the NWO color of purple, and clutching purple speech cards in his hand (check out who else is fond of the color purple), Beck took center stage to issue marching orders to the thousands of gullible lemmings that attended his ‘Restoring Honor’ rally this past weekend.
Beck warmed up the crowd like any good, charismatic tent preacher would.  He opened with, “Something that is beyond man is happening. America today begins to turn back to God. For too long, this country has wandered in darkness.”
After getting the women to tear up, and the men to jut out their chests, Beck’s motivational speech soon turned into a lesson in American history, that apparently began (according to Beck) when, “God’s chosen people were led out of bondage by a guy with a stick.”
As Beck’s sermon unfolded, the very first person to appear in the background (and the very first person Beck introduced) was Rabbi Daniel Lapin, a strong critic of “liberal Judaism” and a controversial figure who has been linked to former lobbyist, con man and convicted felon Jack Abramoff.
According to the Washington Post, Lapin’s specialty is “finding support in the Torah for what turns out to be the current Republican platform: lower taxes, decreased regulation, pro-traditional family policies.”
Gee whiz. And here, all this time, Beck has been telling us that his event was not about politics.” Go figure.
In 2005, Abramoff contacted Lapin via email and asked if it would be possible for him to produce phony credentials from Lapin’s group, Toward Tradition.  Abramoff wanted something like a “Scholar of Talmudic Studies,” or “Distinguished Biblical Scholar Award.” Lapin was more than happy to oblige.
For a rally that promotes the idea of restoring honor to America, Beck certainly picked an awfully dishonorable Rabbi as part of his line up, don’t you think?
Beck continued by saying, “The chosen people listened to the Lord.  At the same time those things were happening…on this side…on this land…another group of people [Native American’s] were gathered here, and they too were listening to God.”
This was less of a tribute to Native American’s and more intended as a subtle reference to Beck’s Mormon theology.  By now, two Native American Indians joined Lapin on the steps behind Beck.  Beck introduced them as the “direct descendants of the Native Americans that met the Pilgrims on the shores as they arrived.”
There they stood, shoulder to shoulder with Rabbi Lapin.  How odd it was seeing two Native American’s standing in the vicinity of a man whose friend, Jack Abramoff, referred to his Indian clients as “morons” and “monkeys” in emails that surfaced during the Abramoff-Reed Indian Gambling Scandal.  But I digress…
The Indian couple was followed by Paul Jehle, a Christian pastor whom Beck introduced as “a direct descendant of those who arrived on the Mayflower.”
Are you starting to see the psy-op here?
Beck is implanting in the minds of his audience that this group represents the three stages of America’s birth. At one point during his speech, Beck turned to face the foursome, and pointed to them individually, as he went down the line, “God’s Chosen people” [the Rabbi]…”the Native Americans”…“and the Pilgrims” [the Pastor]
Is the picture now starting to come into focus?  Beck is linking Israel’s history with America’s history.  He wants you to never forget that the United States and Israel are one in the same.  This way, the next time one of his brainwashed minions hears of a homemade rocket falling on an empty lot in Jerusalem, or if an Iranian sailor accidentally steps on the toes of an IDF commando who is inspecting his ship, they will not just consider it an attack on Israel— but an attack on America itself.
We’re being prepped for war, folks—and everything about this rally, including all the references to Martin Luther King, was part of that sales pitchThe GOP has a vested interest in getting on the good side of the African American community.  Why?   Because they need those young, black soldiers on the battlefield.  What better way to get their foot in the door than to invoke the spirit of the black communities most cherished icon.
Talk about your defamation of character.  Using Martin Luther King as a poster child for your pro-Israel war rally?  Say what you like about Reverend King, but he certainly was not a war advocate like Beck and Palin.   During the 1960’s, MLK openly expressed his opposition to the Vietnam War on moral grounds.  He also said that the war drained much-needed resources from domestic programs. He was even more concerned about the percentage of African American casualties in relation to the total population. King was a leader in the anti-war movement who rallied other African Americans to the cause.
Listening to a warmonger like Sarah Palin talk up Martin Luther King was beyond surreal.  Before she addressed a list of US soldiers who were receiving awards, Palin gave this little ‘shout out’ to her favorite Brother from another Mother:
“Over these grounds where we are so honored to stand today, we feel the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who on this very day, two score and seven years ago, gave voice to a dream that would challenge us to honor the sacred charters of our liberty – that all men are created equal.”
She then went on to suggest that the best way to honor MLK was to honor the military men and women who fought to protect his freedom of speech.
“Now, in honoring these giants [George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King], who were linked by a solid rock foundation of faith in the one true God of justice, we must not forget the ordinary men and women on whose shoulders they stood. The ordinary called for extraordinary bravery. I am speaking, of course, of America’s finest – our men and women in uniform, a force for good in this country, and that is nothing to apologize for.”
It would have been just fine if Sarah Palin had stopped there—but you know Sarah Palin.  She can’t get through the day without making some whacked out comment that reveals what a raving lunatic she really is.
“Now, I’ve been asked to speak today, not as a politician. No, as something more – something much more. I’ve been asked to speak as the mother of a soldier, and I am proud of that distinction. You know, say what you want to say about me, but I raised a combat vet, and you can’t take that away from me. I’m proud of that distinction, but it is not one that I had imagined because no woman gives birth thinking that she will hand over her child to her country, but that’s what mothers have done from ancient days.”
Did you catch that last part, Ladies and Gentlemen?  I hope so, because her message was loud and clear:  If you want to be right with God, and a great American patriot, you will do as Sarah Palin has done.  You will raise your sons to the tender age of 18 and then surrender them over to your government.  After all—as Sarah Palin reminds us—“that’s what Mothers have done from ancient days”
The best way I can think of responding to that is by referring you to one of my favorite movie quotes from the Adam Sandler comedy, Billy Madison:
“What you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.”
For a brief spell—the Democrats were sent in like a direct-action Special Ops team to force through legislation that the GOP also wants, but can’t sell to their conservative constituents.  The wars have continued, but at an idled pace.  However, as soon as the Republicans take power, those wars will kick into high gear, and new wars will grow out of those.
But you can’t have a war without soldiers, and right now soldiers are in short supply.  The government wants to avoid a draft as long as they can because they have learned their lesson from Vietnam.  Drafts bring bad publicity, protests and reluctant soldiers returning from the battlefield to share their horror stories with the world.
So that’s why the Pentagon decided to sponsor this pricey recruitment campaign—an infomercial if you will—for the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines.  But the target audience, for this thinly veiled marketing campaign, was not the virile 18 year old who will be expected to do all the fighting.  This propaganda was aimed directly at Mom and Dad, to convince them that it is the patriotic duty of every red-blooded American parent to rear their sons and daughters in preparation for military service.  Do that—and the government will reward you, and your children, with showers of public admiration and all the bragging rights that go along with it.
These lavishly produced celebrations of war are being used to promote a culture of military worship like that which flourished in the former Soviet Union, and can still be found to exist in places like North Korea.  If this frightening trend continues, we may very well find our daughters being encouraged to issue white feathers (a symbol of cowardice) to men not wearing uniforms—a common practice, to encourage men to enlist in the British Army, during World War I.
Of course, many of those who are peddling this war propaganda don’t hold themselves to the same standard.  Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Neal Boortz, and countless others have never served in the military…but they sure expect your children to serve.
Sarah Palin (whose son is a combat veteran) is an exception to this rule, but only because she is one of the few pundits who believes in her own rhetoric.  This is what makes her so effective…and dangerous.
Some say that Beck is cast from the same mold.  On the surface this may appear to be true.  But psychologically, they are as different as night and day.  Beck is not a psychopath—he is a sociopath.  Psychopaths believe that they are doing God’s work, while the sociopath believes that God works for them.
One of the best films to ever come out of Hollywood is, ‘A Face in the Crowd.’ Andy Griffith plays Lonesome Rhodes, an opinionated, backwoods country-western singer who is discovered in a drunk tank by a local talent scout.  Rhodes gets a spot on a local radio program and becomes an overnight sensation due to his folksy charm and engaging personality.  Soon after, he lands a television program and amasses a huge following as well as multiple sponsors and endorsements.  Before too long, Rhodes becomes the most powerful and influential entertainer on the airwaves.  This leads to him being introduced to Worthington Fuller, a political candidate who asks for Rhodes assistance in getting elected.  Rhodes becomes his media emissary and helps him to gain a significant lead in the national polls. Riding high off this victory, Rhodes confides in one of his intimates.
“Rednecks, crackers, hillbillies, hausfraus, shut-ins, pea-pickers – everybody that’s got to jump when somebody else blows the whistle. They don’t know it yet, but they’re all gonna be ‘Fighters for Fuller. ‘They’re mine! I own ‘em! They think like I do. Only they’re even more stupid than I am, so I gotta think for ‘em.”
It becomes obvious—to those closest to him—that Rhodes public persona is merely an act, and that he is actually an egotistically driven manipulator with Machiavellian political aspirations. Rhodes uses everyone around him in his pursuit of fame and fortune—and has utter contempt for his audience—seeing how easily they can be deceived.  This resentment gives him an air of superiority over others and an unrealistic sense of invulnerability…and this is what leads to his downfall.  During the closing credits of his television program, his confidant purposely arranges to switch on the audio to his microphone so the entire nation can hear what he really thinks of his audience.
“Shucks, I sell them chicken fertilizer as caviar. I can makethem eat dog food and think it’s steak. Sure, I’ve got themlike this. You know what the public’s like, a cage full ofguinea pigs. They’re a lot of trained seals…I toss them a deadfish and they’ll flap their flippers. Good night, you stupid
Good night, you miserable slobs.”
If you’ve followed Glenn Beck’s career, you can’t help but find a lot of striking similarities between him and Lonesome Rhodes.
But whether they will share the same ending… remains to be seen.

It's high-time for another huge Israeli false-flag in the US of F'ing A

By Jeff Gates
(Special to Opinion Maker) Here’s a news flash for Tel Aviv: it’s not a sign of respect when the bulk of humanity views you as psychopathic. Pakistan, in particular, should be concerned.
The concerns of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are misplaced. The legitimacy of Israel is no longer threatened. It’s already lost. Long gone. Kaput.

Nation states are shared states of mind. The mindset in Iceland differs from India. Israel is the most unlike of all. Founded by extremists and terrorists, it’s been downhill ever since.
Psychopaths want to be loved. That’s why they’re so charming, albeit only superficially. They’re also pathological liars, egocentric, callous and remorseless.

Those qualities have long been familiar to Israel’s neighbors, particularly the Palestinians. After WWII, Harry Truman was charmed into treating this extremist enclave as an ally.
That decision may well go down in history as America’s greatest mistake.
Though we’ve served for 62 years as Israel’s patron, pocketbook and apologist, the respect and affection has flowed in only one direction.

Psychopaths should not be confused with megalomaniacs. The mental states are quite different. Megalomaniacs seek to be feared, not loved. Control is the common trait.
That not-so-subtle distinction matters, at least for those of us who are not dual citizens.
For instance, it’s now known that Israel and its advocates fixed the intelligence that took us to war in Iraq. That fact is no longer in dispute.

That fact alone confirms the split personality evident in the shared state of mind we call Israel. Those who share that state charmed us into committing our blood and treasure for goals long sought by Israel. That’s the psychopath component.

The megalomaniac component felt they had a right to make us fearful. As Chosen (by a god of their own choosing), devotees of this shared mindset truly believe it’s their right to deceive. Those complicit see themselves as “of us but above us.”

When we dispatched our military to pursue their goals, Americans were killed and maimed as we borrowed our way into a fiscal morass from which there’s no clear route to recovery.
Score another victory for the U.S.-Israel special relationship.

Why Don’t Americans Get It?
Nothing about this “state” is legit. Never was. Its founding traces to a multi-decade reign of terror built on a phony historical foundation. Even the most dull-witted now question how Israel came into being. And why the U.S. ever deemed it special.

Americans are learning to fear Israel—as they should. A few of us remain charmed—despite the facts. For the True Believer, facts are likely to remain irrelevant.
Those familiar with the facts know better. Thus the fast-growing concern that troublesome behavior patterns are emerging once again.
Those most knowledgeable are deeply concerned about recent events.
On August 26th, a leaked memo from the Central Intelligence Agency cited American Jews as exporters of terrorism. Then came the news on August 30th from Sephardi chief Rabbi Ovadia Yosef who urged that Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas “vanish from our world” and that “God strike (Palestinians) down with a plague.”
Neither story gained traction in mainstream U.S. media. Instead, news coverage was reserved for August 31stwhen four Israelis were shot dead in the West Bank.

The most lethal attack in four years—blamed on Hamas—occurred just hours before Netanyahu’s scheduled meeting with Hamas leaders and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
The timing revived memories of the many well-timed “incidents” during the reign of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. No one dares suggest that Tel Aviv may be the source of this latest incident. Yet consider just a few of the many precedents:
  • On April 12, 2002, at the same moment Secretary of State Colin Powell was meeting with Ariel Sharon, a suicide bombing occurred in Israel, killing 8 and injuring 22.
  • On May 10, 2002, at the same moment President Bush was meeting with Ariel Sharon, a suicide bombing occurred in Israel.
  • On June 11, 2003, on the same day Ariel Sharon visited the White House, a suicide bombing killed 17 and wounded 100 on a bus in Jerusalem.
  • On November 11, 2003, while the president of Italy was visiting the U.S., Italy suffered its greatest wartime casualties since WWII when 19 Italians were killed in Iraq.
  • On November 20, 2003, while President Bush was visiting Prime Minister Tony Blair in London, the British envoy to Istanbul was among 27 killed by a blast.
  • On November 30, 2003, while the president of Spain was visiting the U.S., seven Spanish intelligence officers were killed in Iraq.
The Source of Terror

What happens to Israel’s fast-fading legitimacy if the fear of terrorism—all of it—traces back to those long known for their expertise at waging war “by way of deception.” That’s the founding credo of the Mossad, Israel’s foreign operations directorate infamous for its worldwide expertise as an agent provocateur.
Would a state founded by terrorists resort to terror to sustain a narrative essential to its survival? Would Tel Aviv again deceive the U.S. to pursue its expansionist goals?

Zionist media mogul Haim Saban spoke candidly when, in the May 10th issue of The New Yorker, he boasted of “three ways to be influential in American politics:” make donations to political parties, establish think tanks and control media outlets.
His only omission: terror.
Was this dual citizen conceding how the U.S. was induced to war—for Israel?
Was he describing how Zionists shape U.S. policy—in plain sight?
Was he describing how psychopaths wage war on the U.S.—from within?
Was he divulging how megalomaniacs influence U.S. decision-making—with fear?

Americans have long been charmed by this “special” relationship. Now it’s time to be fearful. When a mental state of this malevolent sort becomes transparent and its operatives apparent, that’s when “psycho-megalomania” becomes its most dangerous.
Will we see another terrorist attack? You can bet on it. The only question is: When?
Special days are often chosen for special events. Will the next mass murder be on Rosh Hashanah (September 8th)? How about the ninth anniversary of September 11th? Or Yom Kippur on September 17th?

Will the next incident be nuclear or conventional? Will it be staged in the U.S. or the E.U.?
And most important of all: will it be blamed on Hezbollah or Hamas? Or will the “Pakistan Taliban” be portrayed as the requisite Evil Doer responsible for the next mass murder?
Stay tuned.

Innocent Executioners: An Illustration of the Principles of Western Civilization in the Modern World

Now You Can Panic: Obama Needs Your 401(k) to Balance His Budget

From The New American 25 AUGUST 2010, BY BOB ADELMANN:
The Obama administration is “taking the first steps to confiscate retirement dollars,” according to Dr. Jerome Corsi who predicts that the end result will be retirees with 401(k) plans holding near-worthless government debt “that will be paid off in a devalued currency worth … pennies on the dollar.”
The move to confiscate those retirement dollars for government purposes was best illustrated by Christina Kirchner, President of Argentina, in 2008 when she announced plans to seize her citizens’ private pension funds. Writers at the Heritage Foundation said that while Kirchner claimed such seizure was necessary to protect her citizens’ investment accounts from the global meltdown, “most observers believe[d] her real motive [was] to use the $30 billion in seized assets to ease the massive debt obligations her leftist spendthrift government [had] run up.” The Wall Street Journal agreed, saying that “taking over the … pension fund assets [would] ease the cash crunch faced by [her] government.”
Corsi said he has a letter from the Treasury Department, Bureau of Public Debt, informing U.S. citizens that the federal government is rolling out a new program called “Treasury Direct” that will allow citizens “to purchase, manage, and redeem…savings bonds” electronically, as well as offering an option to purchase such bonds automatically through payroll savings or a personal checking account. This happened to coincide nicely, according to Corsi, with a bill offered by Senator John Kerry (D-Mass.) to create “Automatic IRAs” that would require all employers and employees to invest in IRAs using that automatic deduction option, “whether they want to do so or not.”
And this happened to coincide also with a program being pushed by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) called “Retirement USA” which would create a government-forced retirement program with assets being directed into special Treasury Retirement Bonds, or R-Bonds. “Retirement USA” is promoting the idea that all workers have a “right” to a government retirement account, in addition to Social Security and any private pension plans those workers already have in place. Others behind “Retirement USA” also support more government dependency for workers, including the AFL-CIO, the Economic Policy Institute, the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare and the Pension Rights Center.
All of this is being promoted by the idea that individual citizens aren’t saving enough for their retirement, and that consequently government has to “do something.” Rep. Jim McDermott (D-Wash., above photo), Chairman of the House Ways and Mean’s Committee’ Subcommittee on Income Security and Family Support, is confused about whose money is in those 401(k) plans: the individual contributor, or the government. He said that “since the savings rate isn’t going up for the investment [Congress is making] of $80 billion [in 401(k) tax savings], we have to start to think about whether or not we want to continue to invest that $80 billion for a policy that’s not generating what we now say it should.”
The world view of Rep. McDermott is revealing, and brings clarity to the point of view of many in the Washington establishment that the $4.5 trillion currently invested in 401(k) plans and other private pension plans that enjoy tax breaks actually belong to the government, and that when Congress loses $80 billion that would otherwise flow to Washington due to those tax breaks, it’s an “investment” that must “generate what we say it should”, or else it must be replaced with something else that works better.
The real “story behind the story” was revealed by Joe Wolverton here when he said,
…since the day of his inauguration, Barack Obama and his congressional co-conspirators have consistently and unapologetically set out to systematically nationalize the economy of the United States: first the banks; then the insurance companies; then the auto industry; then healthcare; and now the piece de resistance, the private savings accounts of millions of middle-class Americans.
But, thanks to the SEIU and their program “Retirement USA,” it’s all dressed up to look like a good deal for unsuspecting owners of retirement plans. In “Making the Case for a New System” they take the view that “A secure retirement is part of the American dream. Yet our retirement system is failing many Americans. Social Security is the cornerstone of our system, but as currently structured, is not meant to be our only retirement program. Pensions and savings plans are supposed to fill the gap, but too many workers don’t have plans, and too many plans don’t do the job.” They complain that:
Private retirement plan coverage is not UNIVERSAL…
For millions of Americans, private retirement benefits are not SECURE…
And Private retirement benefits are not ADEQUATE…
And, continues “Retirement USA”’s website, “Social Security must be preserved and strengthened… [and] we must encourage employers to offer and maintain them.”[emphasis added]
Underlying all of this is, of course, the statist presumption that government knows best what’s good for the citizens, and when the citizens’ behavior fails to meet government expectations, then mandates and force must be used to do for those citizens what the government thinks is best.
And the fact that Washington is looking at annual trillion-dollar deficits “for as far as the eye can see,” that $4.5 trillion of private monies is just too tempting to ignore.

MoreIn just four months, on January 1, 2011, the largest tax hikes in the history of America will take effect. They will hit families and small businesses in three great waves.
